We didn't have long to wait for Kayte's first meet. It was out in Troy, and a whole crew of family carted in to watch Kayte run. Ava decided to join the team this week, so Kayte now has a running partner! She didn't have enough practices yet to be eligible to compete, but she was there to get Kayte ready.

The race was 1.6 miles, and by the first half mile Kayte was already taking the lead. She blew us away! I was so worried that she'd tank herself out, but she held strong, even up some crazy hills!
My little Sara. She is a huge fan, and totally inspired! It doesn't take much to imagine them eventually running on the same team, wouldn't that be the coolest thing ever??!
Kayte held the lead until the very last sprint to the finish. At a time of 13.28, Kayte was second place of all the girls at the meet!! I thought my heart might literally explode.

She got a medal!!
The highschool raced after Kayte, and these two lady Knights each scored a medal. The one in the middle is Megan Dye, and she killed the competition! Kayte is close enough in age that she will actually be on her team by the time she is a freshman.
The whole highschool team was so supportive of Kayte, cheering for her and congratulating her. It is such a fun team to be a part of, and she's having the time of her life!
Logos Boys' team. Scored the top five spots and won the meet. It was such an exciting finish!
