I picked up Kayte from school the other day and she was just shaking with excitement! Her teacher was giving away goldfish, and she wanted one!! Could she could she, please???!
We had to be the first kids in the classroom the next day with a fishbowl, so we headed to Pets are People, too (try saying that with a straight face), and picked up the whole get-up. Kayte paid for it all herself!
When I came to get her the next day, she had not only scored a fish, she won the lottery, and got two! She named the big one Mabelle, after our old house where we had a pond with gold fish (our only ever live-breathing pets). And the other one Squirt. They've lived for like four weeks already, so it's looking good!
She's a proud and doting little caretaker. So cute!
