Ben, fresh off his birthday haul, was feeling pretty high on the hog. He scored two crisp $10 bills, a handful of quarters, and a silver dollar, and he was getting pretty antsy about it. He begged me to take him to the dollar store so he could buy something...anything. We (mostly Joe, haha) regularly teach the children that you get what you pay for, and a $1 toy is, well, a short-sighted investment to say the least. But I didn't even mention that this time, and Ben was still on the defense.
"I don't care if I waste a little money" he said, "I have tons of it!"
